Joan’s Jungle

How the journal works

Editorial standards & sources

Joan’s Jungle publishes practical plant-care, garden-planning, and printable-use guides for everyday plant people. This page explains what those guides are—and what they are not.

A shared, truthful editorial byline

Guides are researched and maintained under the Joan’s Jungle Editorial Team byline. That shared byline does not claim that Joan personally tested, wrote, or reviewed every recommendation. It also does not imply a horticultural credential or expert review unless a page names the qualified reviewer and the scope of that review.

Evidence before prescription

For factual horticultural guidance, articles rely on university extension, government, or other primary institutional sources. Etsy and software instructions use official platform documentation. Each article lists the sources consulted, and the claim is narrowed when a source does not support a universal rule.

Clear dates and meaningful updates

Every article shows a publication date that can be supported by the project history. When no earlier public record is available, the first verifiable repository publication date is used rather than an estimated earlier date. When the answer, evidence, or recommended process changes materially, the page also shows an updated date. Cosmetic edits alone do not receive a new date.

Educational, not site-specific diagnosis

Plant needs vary by species, climate, potting mix, light, and growing conditions. The journal offers educational starting points, not a professional diagnosis or a guarantee of a particular result. When a plant problem could involve a pest, disease, or local growing condition, a local extension service is the best next stop.

Products stay separate from free guidance

Helpful answers remain readable without a purchase. Relevant products may be linked after the guidance, but the journal does not reproduce the full layouts or contents of Joan’s paid printables. Product availability, current price, delivery terms, permitted use, and checkout remain authoritative on Etsy.

No fabricated proof

Joan’s Jungle does not publish invented reviews, fake urgency, paid rankings presented as editorial choices, or claims that Etsy endorses this site. Product links lead to the Joan’s Jungle Etsy shop; they are not third-party affiliate recommendations.

Corrections

If a guide contains a factual error or a cited source no longer supports a claim, please contact the editorial team through the Etsy shop. Material corrections are made on the page and reflected in its updated date.
