Will this printable fit my frame?
A file and frame can both be labeled “standard” and still use different proportions. Compare their aspect ratios before printing to see whether the image fits, crops, or needs a mat.
Why print sizes crop
Aspect ratio describes shape, not physical size. An 8×10 print and a 16×20 print share the same 4:5 shape, so the same file can scale between them. An 11×14 frame is slightly different. Printing edge to edge means trimming part of the image; fitting the whole file means using a border or mat.
Before you print an Etsy download
Download the original files from your Etsy purchase and use the ratio or size supplied with the listing. In the print dialog, verify orientation and scale instead of accepting an automatic “fill page” crop.
